Bottom’s Up AU:
Marceline Abadeer is 22 and not exactly what you’d call an upstanding citizen. She drinks like no tomorrow, curses, and shoplifts on occasion. She has yet to find a steady job, but she’s in a band and the occasional gig keeps money in her pocket. She has an psychosomatic condition that makes her physically sick if she eats anything that’s not the color red. Most of her days are spent sleeping past noon and finding ways to annoy her neighbor Earl. She has a super complicated relationship with her father, who wants her to go to law school but Marceline has no intention of doing that. She’s also got some history with Simon, the local hobo. She keeps tabs on him and always makes sure he’s got something to eat. She currently attends AA meetings thanks to Finn.
Bottom’s Up AU:
Finn Mertens is 19 years old, and a fireman in-training. He’s an orphan, and bounced around from foster home to foster home until he came to Oooton. After high school Marceline invited him to move in with her and he quickly took her up on the offer. He’s always doing good around the neighborhood- and he takes his dog Jake nearly everywhere he goes. During the week he works at the Candy Kingdom Candy Store, running errands and such for his manager Bonnibel. On weekends he goes to the orphanage and entertains the kids. He’s always looking for hats, but has yet to find “the one”, and he can cook a mean scrambled egg.
